David F. Suhr – Founder / Instructor / Proctor

With over 30 years of experience in the food industry, David F. Suhr brings unmatched expertise to food safety education in Maine. As the founder of DFS Services, David has spent more than 25 years as a nationally certified ServSafe® Instructor and Proctor (CFSP, ANSI), teaching for the Maine Restaurant Association and training countless food service professionals across the state.

In addition to his ServSafe® credentials, David is certified through the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA)—a nationally recognized authority endorsed by the Conference for Food Protection. His training is built on the most comprehensive, up-to-date food safety standards available.

David also developed the BASIC Food Safety Program, designed as both a refresher for experienced food handlers and a practical introduction for those new to the industry. His passion for education and dedication to safe food practices make him a trusted leader in training Maine’s food service workforce.
